Yesterday was of course my birthday and so celebrations blah blah blah. However, I went into work today (get to that later) and checked my email during break time. I have an email from Brian Drisdelle who is a guy I used to work with at Norampac. Well, he sends me this message that says something about it being my birthday and to jump for joy. Well, it then occurs to me what he is referring to. The Easter Egg I left on Norampac’s Groupwise email system.
Before I left there, I set up an email account to send a message to everyone that was a member of the “Moncton” group on their LAN. This message would be sent on December 11th, 2005, and December 11th, 2006. So, having forgot about it, I was reminded today and apparently it worked. A whopping 12 months later, they get a message from me. I’m sure it confused the hell out of some of the employees but that’s what is great about time delayed emails. They literally sit in the queue and wait to be delivered until the exact time and date you specify. Pretty damn funny. Thanks for emailing and reminding me Brian.
Now on to work. I came home at lunch today because I was feeling quite ill and have in fact been to the bathroom a few times. I decided to put this post up now and then go lay in bed some more. I have done nothing but rest this afternoon and intend on doing that for the rest of the day/night and hopefully going to bed early. I do not want to miss any more time at work. Especially where this is an exam week and I have piles of stuff to do. Plus the fact that there are only 9 more working days left before holidays.
