Dad, the race, and the short weeks

Posted by on November 10, 2008

This past weekend it was just me and Dylan as Tamara was away. I managed to keep myself out of trouble and taking care of mini-me was not as bad as I had thought. We did well.

I did however decide to make a phone call I had been putting off. I called Dad.

Well, turns out his cataract was removed fine, but now he’s got some kind of clot that is slowly being cleared or something, plus his car has been dead for two months. No real reason why he never called, but needless to say, he was happy to hear from me. I told him that I was coming to see him next week. I booked two days of vacation off next week so I’ll fly from Vancouver to Edmonton after my work is done and spend a few days there. I figure since I’m that close, I might as well go for it. It will be nice to see him, as well as Jason while I’m in Vancouver. He’s actually picking me up at the airport. Will be cool.

The Moncton’s Race for Cache is this Saturday and the online registration has NOT gone so well. I’ve had a lot of cachers tell me they think it’s a great idea and they will be there, but very few actual registrations. I have almost everything ready, including the trophies, so regardless of how many players there are, a race is going to happen. If you’re curious about how it will all come together, head out to Bore park at 12:30ish on Saturday. Me and Tamara will be there getting people signed up. Remember, this is a geocaching race.

It’s another short week here. Last week was short since I was able to take Monday off in lieu of Thanksgiving. This week is short with the holiday tomorrow and next week will be even shorter since I have vacation time and will be near friends and family on the other end of the country. I am very anxious and excited.
