Christmas 2009

Posted by on December 27, 2009

Yes folks, another holiday has passed already. Here it is Boxing Day 2009 and in a few days, the new year will be here. So, how did your holiday turn out? Well, let me describe ours.

Dylan has been going on about Santa and wanting “Spiderman presents” for weeks now and yesterday, he got his wish. Santa brought him a cool spiderman plush, action figure, and he even got a car from his cousin Byron. He also got a pile of spiderman clothes, a dancing/singing mat, some Hot Wheels, an R/C car, mits, hats, and all the fun things a 2 year old boy would want.

Tamara got her new digital camera. Nothing high end but it replaced the Casio she “broke” at the Christmas parade. She also got a few other things but I’ll leave them for her to tell folks. She was very happy with the gifts she got. I will say she got a couple of cool photo books.

Megan cleaned up as well as she got some new dolls, a few clothes, a couple of ball popper toys, and a shape sorter. She had a blast playing with all the wrapping paper.

I however did very well and got something I have been talking about since they first came out. I got a Roomba. Specifically, I got this Roomba. Let me tell you, who knew that a vacuum could be so much fun. Wow. The thing really does work well and it roams the house finding stuff to clean and then comes back to it’s home base. Very neat. Tamara named the robot Rudy and we might even put a set of eyes on him. If you look at the picture in the link, you”ll see where the smile is. VERY cool. I also got the new Star Trek movie, the movie Ransom (which I have been looking for for along time), socks, gloves, pants, shirts, and a pile of other stuff. A very good Christmas.

Two Christmas dinners filled our day. Started with one at Tamara’s mom’s where Megan decided that she wanted a piece of cake so she yanked the crystal cake plate off the table which then resulted in the plate and the cake hitting the floor and the plate shattering. VERY funny to see. Mom’s was quiet but just as good. Dylan & Megan enjoyed playing with the dog and more food was had by all. No cake mishaps there.

Boxing Day was pretty mellow. Hosford came by for a visit and I managed to kick back and watch my new Star Trek movie. I also decided to buy myself a gift and ordered a new Bluray drive for my PC. Should be here this week. Can’t wait to see LOST on Bluray.

All in all, a pretty good holiday. Now I can hopefully enjoy the next few days off work as I am not due back until the 4th. I’m hoping to do some caching and enjoy the time I do have off before kicking the new year in. 2009 is almost over and I can’t wait to see what 2010 gives me.
